WJAC-TV Recognizes Two Seniors for Their Volunteer Work

Our very own Brandon Martinazzi and Nik Suckinos were featured in WJAC-TV’s "Making a Difference” on February 6th. Both of these seniors are top students and are active in athletics and school clubs, and yet they continue to step up inside and outside of the classroom.

“Since we were freshmen, we just try to be the best we can be,” says Martianazzi. “Help kids out and think of others before we think of ourselves.”

Coach Gongloff’s Return Brings Success to Girls’ Basketball Team

The Girl’s Basketball team, which holds a 14-3 overall record, seems to be heading towards the District 6-A championship! With four key players—senior Alli Farabaugh, juniors Jordan Novak and Ellie Yahner, and sophomore Jourdan Williams—out due to various injuries, the team has been relying on their younger players.

“The willingness for the players to go beyond how far they feel they’re capable has been a big key for us,” Gongloff says. “They’re impressing me with their work ethic. They’re as good a team as any that I’ve ever coached.”

A Deacon’s Delicate Balance

A Bishop Carroll alumnus was recently featured in Our Sunday Visitor Newsweekly for his 25-year service as a deacon at St. Edward Catholic Community in Spring, Texas. In the profile, Joseph Mignogna '73, shares the delicate balance of life as a deacon--managing time for his spouse (Theresa, 1976 graduate of Bishop Carroll), children (and now grandchildren), a full-time job, and serving God and his parishioners.
