In the spotlight: Bishop Carroll senior likes 'to be active'

From the 12/5/15 issue of The Tribune-Democrat

If you need something done at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, look no further than Michaela Gresko.

The senior is active in almost every school activity, and believes that you only get to experience high school once so you better make the most of it.

“Everyone says high school is the best four years of your life, so I don’t want to look back and wish I was more involved,” the 17-year-old Loretto resident said. “I want to help other people at school so they can have a great high school experience, too.”

Recently, Gresko was put in charge of organizing the school’s first ever Veterans Day program.

She also served as the master of ceremonies.

“I was a little nervous, but I’m glad we did it because it’s important to show appreciation for the vets in our area,” Gresko said.

BC Prepares for Middle States Accreditation

Bishop Carroll is excited to welcome a Middle States Evaluation Team to Husky Hill during the first week of November as part of our reaccreditation process. The Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools, the premier American regional accreditation agency, is the leader in ensuring that all students receive the highest quality of education and achieve at levels expected by society. Through its accreditation and school improvement services, MSCSS recognizes excellence in educational quality, planning, and growth in student performance and provides the means to meet rigorous standards of educational quality.

Our school’s plan for continued success in the years to come is focused on improving how best to meet our goals in educating our students, especially in the areas of improving communication skills, valuing academic integrity, and utilizing the library as an educational resource. We look forward to the feedback from the Middle States visiting team to help our students achieve our mission of becoming the best possible members of their families, communities, church, and world.
