Bob Martinazzi ’86 Builds His Own Droid

The success of our alumni continues to amaze us, but this is one story we couldn’t have predicted. One of our very own, Bob Martinazzi ’86, has built his own R2-D2.

Bob saw the original “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope” in the theater five times in 1977, and says R2-D2 inspired him to pursue a career in engineering.

Generous Grant Funds Trip to the Holocaust Museum

On Wednesday, October 26, students, faculty, and staff trekked to Washington, D.C. to visit the Holocaust Museum and explore the capital.

This trip was funded by a generous grant from the Blanche Beerman Holocaust Museum Fund through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.

Prior to the trip, students engaged in curriculum based around the Holocaust to comprehend the widespread impact this historical event made on the world.

Guide Rail Adds Security to Home Field


Thank you, Representative Frank Burns!

Thanks to the dedication of Representative Frank Burns, our student-athletes, coaches, and fans no longer have to worry about being harmed by traffic accidents occurring on Route 422 during their time on the field.

 A few years ago, Penn Dot removed the guide rails along the road since the field’s location doesn’t meet their new criteria for guide rails.

Great Football Weekend for Gala Live Auction Winners


Alumni and friends had a great weekend at college and NFL football games on September 24 and 25, thanks to winning tickets at the annual Carrollian Gala.

As a 1965 Bishop Carroll grad, Marty Kuhar’s Catholic education has served him well throughout his life. He's still a practicing Catholic and demonstrates a passion for service. Through his work with Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania, he's able to give back to fellow veterans and military families.
