First-Ever Online Auction a Success for Students

“We raised about $27,000 from the auction,” said Dean of Students Jonathan Nagy, “and some extra donations put us closer to $30,000. We are so excited and grateful for the response to our first online auction.”

In total, the auction received 8,000 bids from 150 individuals, and many items were purchased by out of state alumni and supporters.

In addition to the auctioned items, several items from the BC Wish List were purchased for students. Other items received partial donations. Almost 40 donors made gifts toward the Wish List items.

“We are still taking donations towards any and all of those items,” said Mr. Nagy. “The auction site is still active and funds are still needed and welcomed for our Wish List.”

“One of the best things about the auction is the feedback I received,” Mr. Nagy continued. “So many alumni reached out to tell us how happy they were to be able to support Bishop Carroll from home.”

Plans are in the works for an online auction to be paired with next year’s auction at the Gala.

Thank you to all of the alumni and friends who made bids, purchased items and made donations toward this important effort to benefit our students!
