The chapel has hardly been touched since the schools opening in 1961. New carpet, upgraded lighting, painting, HVAC, stained glass, and other upgrades are on the list. While changes will be made, the same aesthetics and feel of the space will remain. The students of the present will be in the same space as the students of the past.
We are pleased to announce that Bishop Mark Bartchak has given his preliminary approval to name and dedicate the chapel to Blessed Carlo Acutis. Blessed Carlo was a young man from Italy who had a strong devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. He is on the path to sainthood, and our students know of him, look up to him, and pray to him for intercession. It is only fitting that this space be dedicated to his mission. Please pray that the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Sacraments and Divine Worship approves Bishop Mark’s request to name the chapel after Blessed Carlo. Bishop Mark has asked all students, families, and members of the Bishop Carroll community to not only pray for this but for Blessed Carlo’s beatification.
On Thursday, October 12, the students and families of Bishop Carroll will have a unique opportunity. Thanks to Father Leo Arnone and the Parish Family of Saint Aloysius in Cresson, the Eucharistic Miracles display boards will be here at the school. Carlo Acutis was the one who did the research and created the online database from which these boards were created. The students will view the boards during the school day, and families, grade school families, and the community will be invited to do so in the evening. This also happens to be the feast day of Blessed Carlo. We look for many to join us for this occasion!
In this year of Eucharistic Revival, our students will be participating in First Friday Eucharistic Adoration. Religion classes will participate in silent individual prayer as well as group prayer, including the Rosary, Lectio Divina, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and more. This is another important aspect of the Catholic Faith that we want to expose our students to while they are here. In addition, monthly all-school Masses and weekly class Masses continue, as do opportunities for confession.
Donations in any amount are being accepted towards the renovations. Donations over $1,000 will receive name recognition. Please read the information below on how to make a donation towards the cause. Blesse Carlo Acutis, pray for us!

Prayer for the Sainthood Cause of Blessed Carlo Acutis
O Father, who has given us the ardent testimony of the young Blessed Carlo Acutis, who made the
Eucharist the core of his life and the strength of his daily commitments so that everybody may love You
above all else, let him soon be counted among the Saints in Your Church. Confirm my faith, nurture my
hope, strengthen my charity, in the image of young Carlo who, growing in these virtues, now lives with
You. Grant me the grace that I need. I trust in You, Father, and Your Beloved Son Jesus, and the Virgin
Mary, our Dearest Mother, and in the intervention of Your Blessed Carlo Acutis.
Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be….
