As we embrace the spirit of gratitude and giving this season, we are excited to shine a light on two alumni who have transformed their passion into a powerful force for positive change in their communities.
Meet Nick Damin and David Romani II, who have combined their talents and shared experiences to launch Collectively USA—a consultancy studio dedicated to supporting businesses and non-profits in their philanthropic missions.
The story of Collectively USA is rooted in relationships, shared values, and a relentless desire to make a difference. What started as commonality on the soccer pitch in 2006, bringing Bishop Carroll its first District 6 title in program history in 2007, evolved into lifelong friendships, now business partners, with one specific vision - create passive financial engines that empower organizations to sustain their community-driven missions.
Nick Damin (class of 1998) is a former 11 year tenured Huskies Boys Soccer Head Coach and former player, who currently owns Damin Printing, a three generation cornerstone of the Ebensburg community. David Romani II (class of 2010), 4 year coach and player, currently the co-owner of Patch Animation, a philanthropically driven international animation studio.
After graduation, both alumni pursued their respective paths, but their mutual love for soccer and community service always kept them connected. Their journey as coaches inspired them to take the life lessons learned on the field—teamwork, resilience, and leadership— and transform their support throughout communities in substantial ways.
Collectively USA operates as a consultancy studio specializing in brand engagement and sales dealing with fundraising and donation campaign management for non-profits and charitable causes. Their services encompass strategic planning, experiential and partnership development, branding, and content creation, all aimed at enhancing fundraising initiatives and maximizing donor impacts.
With over 20 years of community philanthropic support, the Collectively spirit has always been in action, the two alumni say they just finally put a name to it.
They collaborate with a leading financial institute, MiCamp Solutions, who offers industry leading cost-effective payment solutions to businesses and non-profits, to further optimize their fundraising efforts. As a trusted partner of many institutes and establishments, they strive to create long-standing bonds that create unique and specialized opportunities.
By creating passive financial engines with their partners, businesses and non-profits are able to save money and give back to causes that they love, while creating positive public relations throughout the process. By strategically connecting the dots within the non-profits sector, they help build stronger communities and provide much-needed resources for various causes where donor fatigue is real.
Through amplifying the voices of non-profits, supporters, and student-athletes, Collectively USA fosters a culture of empathy, engagement, and collaboration. The studio started in the sports world, partnering with a number of entities including Penn State and Pitt athletics. As time moved forward, conversations continued to be fluid with other universities such as USC, Ohio State, Syracuse, UCLA, Indiana, Nebraska, and Washington. Though, throughout their journey Nick and David realized that they could expand well beyond universities into a number of other industries.
Nonetheless, as former high school athletes, Nick and David have a deep appreciation for the role sports play in shaping character and leadership skills. They are particularly passionate about mentoring young athletes, encouraging them to leverage their talents for social good. By integrating philanthropic initiatives into school sports programs, they hope to inspire the next generation to carry the torch of community service and embrace their responsibility as positive changemakers.
Since its inception earlier this year, Collectively USA has already made significant strides in supporting local initiatives. By collaborating with businesses to improve community resources, the founders have proven that their model of collective impact can lead to remarkable outcomes. Their mission not only raises funds but also brings people together, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
