Endowment income is perhaps the least understood revenue source for a high school. While tuition, annual fund drives, sponsorships, etc. are vital to the school, these sources may vary in any given year. Endowments are a steady source of revenue, especially during challenging years. All gifts contributed to endowments are preserved as a perpetual source for generating annual earnings.
Endowments are suitable destinations for contributions of any amount on special occasions (birthdays, memorial gifts in lieu of flowers, etc.). Individuals, families, and alumni classes can establish their own endowments for scholarships or educational experiences as a lasting way of supporting current and future generations of future Huskies.
